Pelican Rack Mount Cases

Rack mount cases carry 19-inch rack equipment: audio, video, network, radio and test gear. The U (or RU) number is the rack height. 1U is 44.5 mm, so a 5U (5RU) rack is 22.2 cm high.

Match the case to how fragile your gear is

Pelican rates equipment by fragility in G, the shock it can take before it is damaged. A lower number needs more protection.

15 to 30 G (precision test gear, medical diagnostic equipment, high-end rack electronics): Classic Rack, with 5 cm of sway space around a shock-mounted rack.

50 to 80 G (general rack electronics, radio and communications gear): MAC Rack, a smaller case with 2.2 cm of sway space.

Everyday AV, IT and stage gear: Classic-V (83.8 cm deep rack, 3U to 9U) or Super-V (61 cm deep rack, 3U to 14U). Both have shock mounts on the case wall and a square-hole steel rack.

Rugged gear that needs weather protection, not shock isolation: the Spacecase 8U static rack, with the rack bolted straight to the shell.

Measure your deepest unit, add room for cables at the back, then pick the rack depth.

Ranges

Australian-made rack cases: Classic Rack (3U, 11U), MAC Rack (3U) and the Spacecase 8U static rack.

Classic-V: 3U to 9U, 83.8 cm (33-inch) deep rack, for long-chassis equipment.

Super-V: 3U to 14U, 61 cm (24-inch) deep rack, with moulded-in edge casters.

ISP transport cases: stackable Pelican-Hardigg shipping cases for pallet and container freight. These are not rack cases.

Other sizes

Pelican’s rack catalog lists Classic Rack cases from 3U to 26U and MAC Rack cases from 3U to 14U, built to order with drawers, shelves, removable racks and 13 colours. Contact us about a size we do not list.

Warranty

Classic-V, Super-V and ISP cases are made in the USA and carry Pelican’s 1-year limited warranty. The Australian-made Classic Rack, MAC Rack and Spacecase 8U carry a 5-year limited warranty, with 90 days on shock mounts, handles, wheels and hardware.
